These Terms of Use apply to your use of Waypoint. By using Waypoint, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Waypoint does

Waypoint is a UK driving-theory revision app built around Apple Screen Time. You choose apps, categories or websites to block. When you try to open a blocked target, iOS may show a Screen Time shield. Waypoint can then ask you to complete a short driving-theory “Pit Stop” challenge before granting temporary access.

Beyond the blocking/unlock loop, Waypoint provides driving-theory practice content directly: the Road Ready Quiz, Theory Modules, Mock Test, a Highway Code reference section, and progress/readiness tracking (Roadbook).

Waypoint is designed to turn phone-checking impulses into short revision moments and to give you a structured way to prepare for the UK driving theory test. It is not a substitute for reading the current official Highway Code, and it does not guarantee that you will pass any test.

Independent content — not DVSA, not official

Waypoint is an independent, self-published revision product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or produced by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), GOV.UK, the Department for Transport, or the Crown.

Waypoint's practice questions, answer options, hints and explanations (Road Ready Quiz and Theory Modules) were independently prepared for Waypoint. They are not the official DVSA theory-test question bank, are not licensed from DVSA, and are not guaranteed to match the wording, format, or content of the live theory test. Illustrations used with these questions are original or independently produced artwork prepared for Waypoint, except where a specific image is an official UK traffic-sign graphic (see “Highway Code and official sign content” below).

Do not treat Waypoint's practice questions as a guarantee of what will appear on your actual theory test, and do not treat a good score in Waypoint as a guarantee that you are ready to pass.

Highway Code and official sign content

Waypoint's Highway Code reference section and some traffic-sign illustrations reproduce material from the official Highway Code and related GOV.UK publications. This material is Crown copyright and is reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Where this applies, the app displays the following attribution:

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Source: The Highway Code, Department for Transport, GOV.UK. Waypoint is not affiliated with or endorsed by GOV.UK, the Department for Transport, or DVSA.

This Highway Code reference content is kept separate from, and should not be confused with, Waypoint's own Road Ready Quiz and Theory Modules practice questions, which are independently authored and are not government content.

If you believe any content in Waypoint is used outside the terms of the Open Government Licence, or infringes a right you hold, contact us using the details below and we will review it.

Apple Screen Time

Waypoint uses Apple's public Screen Time technologies, including Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, and shield extensions.

Screen Time behavior depends on iOS, your device settings, Screen Time permission, selected targets, app lifecycle state, and Apple system behavior. Waypoint can configure and reconcile shields, but it does not control every detail of when iOS shows a shield, how quickly a target relocks, or which apps, categories or websites Apple makes available in the system picker.

You are responsible for choosing the targets you block and for keeping Screen Time permission enabled if you want blocking to work.

No guarantee of perfect blocking

Waypoint is a focus and revision tool. It is not a security product, emergency control system, parental surveillance system, or guaranteed access-control system.

We do not guarantee that:

  • every app, category or website can be selected or blocked
  • a shield will appear instantly in every device state
  • relocking will happen at the exact second an allowance ends
  • Screen Time data will always be complete or immediate
  • Waypoint will prevent all unwanted phone use
  • Waypoint will work the same way across every iOS version or device

Do not rely on Waypoint for emergencies, safety-critical situations, legal compliance, or controlling another person's device.

No guarantee of test results

Waypoint is a revision aid, not a certification, coaching, or examination service. We do not guarantee that using Waypoint will result in passing the DVSA theory test, obtaining a driving licence, or safe driving in real conditions. Road rules, signs and test formats can change; always check the current official Highway Code and DVSA guidance before your test.

Accounts and progress sync

The current audited version does not require an account.

If Waypoint adds optional Sign in with Apple or progress sync in a future version, you may choose whether to use it. Account sync, if offered, is intended to help restore practice progress after reinstalling the app. It is not intended to create a social account, advertising profile, or public user profile.

Any account or sync feature must be covered by the current Privacy Policy before release.

Support and feedback

You may contact us with support requests, bug reports, or feedback, including reports about a specific question, answer, hint or illustration you believe is inaccurate, outdated, or rights-related. If you send feedback, you give us permission to use it to improve Waypoint without owing you compensation.

Do not send sensitive information unless it is necessary for support. Waypoint does not need passwords, private messages, financial information, or highly sensitive personal information to provide support.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misuse Waypoint or attempt to bypass Apple platform rules
  • reverse engineer, copy or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law
  • use the app to monitor or control another person without proper authority and consent
  • use support or feedback channels to send unlawful, abusive, or harmful content
  • interfere with the app, its services, Apple's services, or other users
  • use Waypoint in a way that violates applicable law

Intellectual property

Waypoint, including its design, code, revision content, branding, icons, text and other materials, is owned by Alex Potozki or licensors (including the UK government under the Open Government Licence v3.0 for attributed Highway Code material) and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use Waypoint only as permitted by these Terms, Apple's App Store terms, and applicable law.

Third-party services

Waypoint relies on Apple platform services, including App Store, TestFlight, Screen Time, local notifications and iOS system frameworks, and on RevenueCat for subscription management (see “Purchases and subscriptions” below). Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and policies.

If future versions add further third-party services, analytics, cloud sync, or other integrations, the Terms and Privacy Policy must be updated as needed.

Purchases and subscriptions

Waypoint offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks full access to Waypoint's features. Subscriptions are sold in two plans:

  • Weekly, billed at £6.99 per week after the trial.
  • Monthly, billed at £19.99 per month after the trial.

Both plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid, auto-renewing subscription at the plan's regular price. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, and the cost of renewal will be identified.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from Waypoint's Help & Settings screen (“Manage Subscription”). Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's App Store refund policies; Waypoint does not process payments or issue refunds directly.

Waypoint uses RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider, to validate purchases with Apple and determine your subscription/entitlement status. Waypoint does not receive or store your payment card details — Apple handles the transaction.

If pricing, trial length, or the subscription plans offered change, this section will be updated accordingly.

Disclaimer

Waypoint is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these terms may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alex Potozki will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost progress, device issues, inability to access apps or websites, failed theory-test attempts, or failure of Screen Time restrictions to work as expected.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using Waypoint at any time by deleting the app.

We may suspend or stop providing Waypoint, in whole or in part, if needed for legal, technical, security, App Store or product reasons.

Apple App Store terms

Your download and use of Waypoint through the App Store is also governed by Apple's terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and the applicable Apple standard end user license agreement, unless a custom EULA is provided in App Store Connect.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or through the App Store release process.
